An evening full of nostalgia, poetry, and art to celebrate the 97th birth anniversary of Jagdish Swaminathan took place on 21st June at Dhoomimal Gallery. Accompanied by the launch of the book 'Ustad Ke Kisse’, written by Vivek Tembe, the book documents his memories with his ‘Guru’. The soiree continued with a poetry reading session moderated by Prayag Shukla where Archna Lark, Ashok Vajpeyi, Gagan Gill, Girdhar Rathi, Joshna Banerjee and Poonam Arora read poems in Hindi. Amrita Bera read the translated poems in Bangla which were written by J. Swaminathan dedicated to the occasion. To add a touch of theatricality to the evening a stage presentation of Swami Ji’s Poem, “Suno Maharaj”, directed by Prakash Jha’s theatre group – Mailorang, offered a profound artistic tribute to the revered artist and idealogue.
