Overview
A legacy of 90 years nurturing art and artists, Dhoomimal Gallery has long been a sanctuary for a generation of modernists who went on to achieve greatness.
We are grateful to have played a pivotal role in the journey of these senior artists. Now, as we expand our horizons to empower and amplify the trajectories of emerging voices, Dhoomimal Gallery proudly presents DMG Contemporary: Unfolding a New Era, featuring the gallery's cohort of young artists.
Paving the way with the first edition of DMG Contemporary are four exceptional artists, each with a unique visual language. Inspired by mythology and religious iconography, Dheeraj Yadav creates abstract landscapes transporting the viewer closer to the stories he weaves on his canvas. Meanwhile, Ravi Kumar Chaurasiya creates semi-figurative imaginative spaces, influenced by urban architecture and miniatures with nuanced references. Harshwaradhan Devtale evokes a quiet and transient atmosphere, using aerial perspectives of rural landscapes and showcasing his masterful command of watercolours. Lastly, Hemant Rao constructs glowing compositions using abstract shapes and translucent layers; his neo-tantric visuals are inspired by nature, light, and shadow.
After a successful show at Shridharani Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, the exhibition now moves to Dhoomimal Gallery till 20th April, 2026.
